Safety tips to know for COVID-19

Abigail Markley

Many changes have been made to our everyday life styles. Changes in restrictions are often happening while the circumstances of the pandemic are increasing. However, there are a few health tips that should be followed for your safety.

Due to Ohio state laws, everyone should be practicing social distancing meaning six feet apart or two arm lengths away. Also everyone should try and avoid non-essential travel and be in groups of ten or less.

Make sure you are washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and especially after being in public. If you don’t have access to soap and water, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

As much as you feel like you need to, do not touch your face with unwashed hands.

Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces within your household. High-touch surfaces include phones, remote controls, counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, toilets, keyboards, tablets and bedside tables.

Lastly make sure you are always covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing. Either with a tissue or your elbow, never sneeze and your hands.
