Wuhan has lifted their lockdown
April 8, 2020
As America continues to stay lockdown, the city where the pandemic started is lifting theirs. Life isn’t going back to normal immediately, masks still must be worn and leaving your home often isn’t advised. As China tries to get their economy started again, nations around the world are struggling. The United States being one of them.
Wuhan experienced the virus first, and lost over 2,500 people to it. More than 50,000 were infected. What Wuhan, and the world really, have become nervous about has been the threat of asymptomatic carriers spreading the virus anew.
Luo Ping, who is an epidemic official in Wuhan, stated that there still needs to be an air of caution even with the lockdown lifted.
“The reopening of Wuhan does not mean the all-clear, neither does it mean a relaxing of epidemic prevention and control measures (within the city),” Ping said.
There are concerns over a second wave of infections, and this fuels the search for a cure and a vaccine.
“China lifts 76-day lockdown on Wuhan as city reemerges from coronavirus crisis,” Nectar Gan, CNN.
