As someone who owns an Amazon Alexa that sits in her room, I find this article interesting. I personally don’t mind that Amazon records my interactions with Alexa, as I don’t really say anything personal or compromising when I ask her to do something. However, I can’t speak for everyone, and either way it’s still somewhat disturbing that Google and Amazon would record it, no matter what they say they’re using it for. I wish that they would give a more explicit warning about this before people buy or set up the product. As for skills and applications that record you and steal passwords, there should be more awareness about it online. Amazon and Google are already doing their jobs by trying to stop these apps from working, but unless we warn others about those types of apps, it’s still going to flourish.
