One World: Together at Home provides digital entertainment

    The World Health Organization and Global Citizen teamed up with Lady Gaga in order to produce a star-studded digital event called One World: Together at Home that aimed to honor COVID-19 workers and raise awareness about the importance of staying home. 

    “At this critical moment in history, Global Citizen is also calling on individuals, governments, and philanthropists to join and support immediate COVID-19 response efforts… Changemakers, investors and foundation leaders are being urged to actualize their giving and invest quickly in related efforts, like stronger health systems and vaccine development,” Global Citizen said.

    The broadcast was hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephan Colbert and broadcast included performances and speeches from a wide range of public figures. 

    The event line-up was extensive and included big names such as Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Elton John, David Beckham, Oprah Winfrey, Bill and Melinda Gates, Michelle Obama and Laura Bush.

    The event premiered Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, ABC, The CW, ViacomCBS Networks and iHeartMedia channels.

    The event was also available for digital streaming at 2 p.m. ET on the same day. Viewers could find the stream on platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, TIDAL, Facebook, Apple platforms, Twitch and Yahoo.
