CosMc’s, a McDonald’s sister location, opened its first location in Bolingbrook, IL. It has 1990’s nostalgic space theme decor as well as beverages and foods..  

CosMc’s takes pride in their beverage themed menu, with the inclusion of snack foods and a few original Mcdonalds sandwiches. The beverage menu features colorful and eye-catching cold drinks; such as Churro Freppe’s, S’mores Cold Brew, Tropica, Spice Made Lemonade and Sour Cherry EnergyBurst.

With how bright and happy this new restaurant appears, many have mixed feelings about the opening of CosMc’s. A reddit user by the name of @AutumnCupcake, lives near a CosMc’s, gave their honest thoughts as a common fast food enjoyer. 

“The menu boards had a lot of fun animations, I assumed when they announced this restaurant the menu would be small, but it’s huge. Overall I think McDonald’s has a winner on their hands,” @AutumnCupcakes said. 

Scott Valentine (2025), often goes to McDonald’s. “I enjoy eating McDonold’s every once in a while but sometimes it’s gross,” Valentine said. “I would have to know more about CosMc’s, but I would stop by.” 

Some have had an out of this world experience at CosMc’s. They often have positive things to say. The announcement of CosMc’s was surprising since McDonald’s is currently under fire for giving away thousands of dollars of food to the Israeli military.

McDonald’s CEO (Chief Executive Officer), Chris Kempczinski, made a statement when the sales for McDonald’s rapidly declined. “This is disheartening and ill-founded” Kempczinski said in a letter following the heat the company was taking relating to the war. He chose not to disclose how much this affected their business. 

Many anticipate a response from Chris Kempczinski as well as what the future holds for CosMc’s.
